Every child who needs an advocate should have one.
Community Trainings
TeamChild staff train service providers and community members on common roadblocks facing court-involved youth. Trainings are designed to help people understand how these roadblocks relate to youth rights, and to provide concrete tools and strategies that can be used to make sure kids get what they have a right to and need.
We offer a wide range of training topics that can be tailored to different audiences including youth, parents and caregivers, attorneys, judges, juvenile court professionals and social service providers. Topics include but are not limited to:
- General education rights
- School discipline
- Special education
- Rights to mental health services
- Juvenile justice system overview
- Youth law 101
- Confidentiality and information sharing
- Representing youth clients
TeamChild provides a limited number of these trainings throughout the year. Contact us if you are interested in learning more about our trainings, or complete this online form to request a training.
