Young people have always been at the forefront of movements for change that benefit all of us – speaking out against violence, dismantling systems of oppression, and protecting our sacred planet. As a fundraiser and as a human being, I am committed to standing with youth, elevating their experiences, and ultimately transforming the systems putting barriers in their way. For me as a white person who grew up with enormous privilege, I am also personally dedicated to building a world where all children and young people have an equitable opportunity to thrive. Prior to TeamChild, most recently through my work at The Mockingbird Society, I had the honor of collaborating closely with young people experiencing foster care and homelessness. This experience heightened my awareness of just how much our systems are failing children and youth, particularly youth of color and LGBTQ+ youth. At the same time, I’ve also been deeply moved witnessing all the ways that young people continue to show up for themselves and their communities to create lasting change. These experiences brought me to TeamChild. I am very excited to join the team and lend my skillset to growing and deepening the community of support around this vital work!
