I grew up in Kent, Washington. I became interested in becoming a lawyer as a way to affect systemic change in my community. I attended college at Seattle Pacific University and graduated in December 2015. I then relocated to Washington D.C. to attend law school at the George Washington University Law School in D.C. and graduated in May 2019. In law school I strengthened my interest in youth advocacy after my internships in the dependency division of the King County Department of Public Defense, volunteering at the Family Law Self Help Center at the DC District Court, and interning at TeamChild. I became passionate about amplifying youth voices in a juvenile justice and education system where youth do not often have agency. In July 2019 I relocated to Baltimore, Maryland to work as an Associate at an Immigration firm. At that firm, I helped clients pursue immigration status and worked towards removing barriers to navigating the complex immigration system. I am looking forward to working at TeamChild so that I can continue advocating for youth involved with the juvenile justice system.
