On June 8th, TeamChild Director of Policy and Advocacy will participate in the Senate Human Services, Reentry & Rehabilitation Committee’s work session on the existing systems of care for youth and the transitional/supportive services for youth exiting JR facilities and youth aging out of foster care. The agenda will be as follows:

Panel 1: Agency perspective on youth exiting public systems of care

Panel 2: The perspective of those with lived experience with foster care, justice-involved youth, and those who may have been dually-involved in both systems.

Panel 3: Advocates and stakeholder group discussion on how to be more supportive of those individuals exiting JR and foster care.

Other Work Session Information:

  • COVID Guidelines: The site requires that KN95/N95 masks be worn. The Senate will provide masks for members and staff. Also, due to social distancing guidelines, there may be limited seating capacity for the public.
  • Parking: 2-hour time limited parking is available around the building. There is also parking nearby in the residential area that is not time limited.
  • An audio recording will be available after the work session. Unfortunately, there will not be an option to attend the work session virtually.
